Bhekisipho Twala is an expert in artificial intelligence and data science and is currently serving as the deputy vice-chancellor for digital transformation at the Tshwane University of Technology in South Africa. His career includes leading roles as the Executive Dean of Engineering at Durban University of Technology and founding the Institute for Intelligent Systems at the University of Johannesburg. With a PhD in Machine Learning from the Open University, UK, Twala has made significant contributions to AI and Big Data Analytics, publishing over 180 research papers and supervising more than 30 PhD theses. He is a respected member of several professional bodies, including the Royal Statistical Society and the IEEE, and actively serves on editorial boards for international scientific journals.
